Though it'll be difficult to tear yourself away from our wraparound porch overlooking Spring Lake, it would be a shame to miss out on the town's many offerings. From Community House Theater to deep-sea fishing, this year-round shore community has it all.

Located just two blocks from the hotel, Spring Lake Beach is home to New Jersey's longest, noncommercial boardwalk. Not a beach person? The Hewitt Wellington boasts one of the town's only outdoor, heated pools.

Take a short stroll across the wooden bridge to the tiny town that time seems to have forgotten. Here, homemade candy stores, quaint boutiques and restaurants line the streets.

And if the Victorian atmosphere has you in the mood for a "tee time," there are several public golf courses within 10 minutes of the hotel. You'll also have your choice of public tennis courts. The closest, just a few blocks away, are hidden amid the trees in the shaded park that surrounds Spring Lake.

If you can still find time for a day trip, Atlantic City is 75 miles and Monmouth Park Racetrack is just a short drive away.
